"Rock The Revolution"

This past Sunday our Student Ministry "The Revolution" kicked of with a bang in an event called "Rock The Revolution!"  The event was an open mic with various other activities like DDR, Rock Band, Temporary Tattoos and food!

If I had to sum up how the event went in one word, the word would have been "Amazing."  There was so much planning that went into the event over the past few months from so many different people and it truly was amazing to see the fruit of that labor!

Our Student Ministry at Calvary is only about 6-7 kids currently (I say this only because I think after the event, we are going to grow quickly).  But "Rock The Revolution" attracted more than 50 Talented youth to come out and strut their stuff on an open mic that saw 3 different bands and many other people showcasing their talents throughout the night!  The stories that have been coming out of the event are amazing!  God truly had his hand on the night in so many ways, and without him this new vision for our youth wouldn't have come to fruition.  As the leader of this new ministry, I feel totally blessed.

On my ride home that night I got to thinking about all that happened throughout the night.  The Prep that went into it.  The volunteers who gave their time and talents to make the event a success. The bands and kids who participated in the event.  It was an overwhelming thought to say the least.  I took a step back and truly understood that despite some earlier setbacks (Event location, Etc.) all had come together for a night that won't soon be forgotten (We even had kids asking us when the next event will be).

Our regular weekly meetings will be kicking off on Wednesday nights on April 14th.  We will be meeting at Panera Bread in Bishops corner and eventually will move to a new meeting location.

I am so excited to see what God has in store for us as a group!  Once again I just want to give a HUGE shout out to all who attended the event and for all of our awesome volunteers!  This night was not only a blessing to our youth here at Calvary, but also to the many young people that we reached in our community.  Thanks be to God
